Petrcane is a small settlement in Croatia, which administratively belongs to the city of Zadar and Zadar County. It is a quiet picturesque town located in a beautiful natural environment and ideal for spending a relaxed and peaceful vacation.
Petrcane is located on the coast of the bay of the same name and is also known for its small safe harbor where all types of boats can stay. In the area of the current settlement, the Zadar monasteries of St. Plato and St. Kersevan once had property. The church of St. Bartul, which was built at the turn of the 12th century into the 13th century, has been preserved along the coast in the direction southwest of Petrcane. It is characterized by Romanesque style characteristics and a massive bell tower on the facade, which was later converted into a residential building called Kulina. In the town of Petrcane, the Falkensteiner Hotel, the Petrcane Hotel and the Pinija Hotel are available as part of hotel accommodation. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of local restaurants and bars, as well as various sports facilities that satisfy even the most demanding guests. The natural peninsula is overgrown with pine forest and surrounded by crystal clear sea. It is an ideal starting point for many day trips to various locations - the city of Zadar, the town of Nin, Lake Vrana, Krka National Park, Kornati National Park and Paklenica National Park.
Zadar attracts many visitors, as it is a veritable treasure trove of monumental and archaeological treasures from the ancient, medieval and Renaissance periods, as well as many modern architectural creations, such as the first Sea Organ in the world.
