Opatija's Saint James Park is situated in the centre of the city, in the protected historic part, next to the Church of Saint James and the former monastery. The small Holy Trinity Church located above the harbour is the only remaining of three ancient graveyard chapels. The old cemetery park is an archaeological site for the Church of Saint Trinity from the 13th century. The church was built in Romanesque stlye with a portico (Istrian Lopica). According to sources it's the oldest church in the Kvarner Riviera. Of the three churches that long surrounded the old graveyard, which is located on the grounds of the park to this day, the only survivor is this church.
