Valun is a picturesque fishing village located in the Valun Bay. Many tourists have only recently discovered the place, while true connoisseurs have known it for a long time. Valun is known for its pleasant and peaceful environment and friendly locals.
On summer days, it is almost impossible to find a free parking space on the steep roads in front of the entrance to Valun, and the restaurants and taverns in the idyllic harbor are mostly fully occupied. The place is known for its delicious culinary offer, especially fish specialties. Valun is also known for the location of the Valun plaque, which represents one of the oldest Glagolitic monuments in the area of Croatia and is older than the Baska plaque. The Valun plaque dates back to the 11th century and is written in Latin and Glagolitic. Today it is built into the wall of the sacristy in the church of St. Mary in Valun, which is located in the harbor. Camp Zdovice is located near Valun. It is a small, simple and idyllic camp located in the picturesque Valun Bay.
It is located in a partially wooded area and can accommodate up to 220 guests. The camp's beach is pebbly and suitable for children, as it offers easy access to the sea. It is possible to stay in the Zdovice camp only in tents, cars and caravans are not allowed.
