The small Holy Trinity Church located above the harbour is the only remaining of three ancient graveyard chapels. The old cemetery park is an archaeological site for the Church of Saint Trinity from the 13th century.
The church was built in Romanesque stlye with a portico (Istrian Lopica). According to sources it's the oldest church in the Kvarner Riviera. Of the three churches that long surrounded the old graveyard, which is located on the grounds of the park to this day, the only survivor is this church. The Holy Trinity Church was rebuilt in the Gothic period, with preserved fragments of late Gothic wall paintings from the 15th century (apostles series in a semicircle of the apse), presumably the work of master Albert of Konstanz. In a Gothic stone portal was afterwards incorporated a fragment of the early medieval wattle, which is a unique example of this motif in this region. On the inner wall of the church, built into the wall, is the tombstone of Father Gašpar Bekarić from Lovran dating from 1595, with the bird of paradise relief and inscription written in the old Croatian Glagolitic script which was developed in the 9th century. The church has a simple architectural design, authentic Gothic door and window framesand and a massive bell tower (preslica). The stone entry portal towards the Holy Trinity Church and the park is authentic, but the height of the pillars, as well as the surrounding walls, were once reduced to less than one meter for the purpose of converting space.
In fact, after building a new cemetery in the 19th century, wealthier inhabitants moved their ancestors, and the cemetery grounds emerged as a park. The old park offers a beautiful view of the Lovran harbour and coastal Mediterranean vegetation.
