Nerezine is a picturesque village located at the foot of the Osorscica hill. In the past, the inhabitants were only engaged in agriculture, but in more recent times, tourism dominates. The tourist boom of the place began in the 19th century.
In addition to tourism, Nerezine is known for shipbuilding, seafaring and fishing. The biggest cultural attractions are the parish church of Our Lady of Health from 1877, the Franciscan monastery from the 16th century, which has a three-story Renaissance bell tower, the original parish church of St. Mary Magdalena from 1534 and the castle of the Osor noble Kolon Draza from the 15th century. In the church of St. Mary Magdalena, there is a permanent exhibition of models that show the traditional way of life in Nerezine. Mountain trails lead to Osorscica, where mountaineers can admire the peak of St. Mikula and the chapel. Every year in September, a regatta takes place in Nerezine, to which everyone, locals and visitors, are invited. Studenac Square is located in the center of Nerezine and represents the heart of the place. Above it stands the Church of Our Lady of Health, where holy masses are held on Sundays and holidays at half past ten in the morning.
The historic square has recently been renovated and the area is particularly lively during the summer. At that time, many restaurants, bars, shops and a pastry shop appeared on the square. The square is also known for the well, where the population used to come to get fresh water.
