Mramornica Cave or Marble cave is located near Stanzia Druscovich nearby Brtonigla. It is considered to be one of the largest caves in Istria. Nature lovers will enjoy the refreshing chill of the cave's underground chambers, especially in the hot summer days. It has been known to locals for a long time. The first written document mentioning the Mramornica Cave is contained in a letter by traveler Albert Fortis dated 1771 in which he describes his exploration of the cave in the previous year. During the 30 minutes guided visit you will be surrounded by different coloured dripstones, from white to rusty red. The huge chamber is about 50 meters wide, 90 meters long and five meters high. The depth of the entrance is 10 meters, while the maximum depth of the cave reaches 20 meters. The temperature in the Mramornica Cave is constant 14 degree Celsius. The trails leading through the cave are equipped with safety railings and well-maintained.
