Split is the second largest city in Croatia and the largest city in Dalmatia. Administratively, it belongs to the Split-Dalmatia County, which is one of the largest and most important counties in the country. It is located on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea and represents an important economic, cultural, and tourist center of southern Croatia.
The city developed around the famous Diocletian’s Palace, which today forms part of the historical center and is protected by UNESCO. One of the best-known green areas in the city is Marjan Hill, often referred to as the lungs of Split. In addition to Sustipan and Marjan, Split also has several smaller parks and green spaces, such as Zvoncac Park, Emanuela Vidovica Park, and various seaside promenades lined with trees that connect the city districts along the coast. Zvoncac Park is located in the western part of Split, near the sea and at the foot of Marjan Hill. The park covers approximately 2.7 hectares and represents a popular place for relaxation among both locals and visitors. Thanks to its pleasant Mediterranean surroundings, tree shade, and arranged pathways, it is suitable for walks, family activities, and outdoor recreation. Zvoncac is known for its beautiful trees and pleasant natural environment, which creates a peaceful atmosphere close to the city center. The park includes children’s playgrounds, maintained green areas, and sports facilities, among which the bocce court stands out.
The park also contains dog-friendly areas, making it popular among pet owners as well. Due to its combination of nature, recreational opportunities, and proximity to the sea, Zvoncac is considered one of the most pleasant parks for relaxation and socializing in Split.
