Biograd na Moru is a picturesque coastal town in Northern Dalmatia, Croatia, and part of Zadar County. It is located on the coast of the Pasman Channel, approximately 30 kilometres south of Zadar, between Bosana Bay to the north and Soline Bay to the south.
Due to its favourable location near numerous Dalmatian islands and its close proximity to Kornati National Park and Telascica Nature Park, it is an important tourist and nautical centre of this part of the Adriatic. The town has a long maritime tradition, while today it is a developed tourist destination with a rich offer of accommodation, beaches, restaurants and sports activities. Biograd also has a town harbour, which plays an important role in connecting the mainland with nearby islands, especially Pasman. In addition, the town offers two important marinas – Marina Kornati and Marina Sangulin. Marina Kornati is located in the immediate vicinity of the town centre of Biograd na Moru and is considered one of the largest and best-equipped marinas on the Croatian coast. Due to its favourable location in the heart of the Dalmatian archipelago, it is popular among domestic and foreign boaters, as it provides an excellent starting point for sailing towards the Kornati Islands, Telascica and many other islands of the Zadar archipelago. The marina combines modern nautical infrastructure, high-quality services and a pleasant Mediterranean environment, making it suitable both for boat owners and visitors looking for a safe and well-organised base for exploring the Adriatic. Marina Kornati belongs to the higher-capacity marina category and provides berths for a large number of vessels. It offers 635 sea berths and 70 dry berths on land, accommodating vessels up to 25 metres in length and with a maximum draft of 6 metres. Thanks to its protected location, the marina is well sheltered from various weather conditions. The marina complex is divided into three connected sections – the northern, western and southern basins. Together, they include several piers equipped with electricity and water connections, providing a comfortable and safe stay for vessels. The wider entrance to the marina enables easier arrival and departure even for larger boats, while additional comfort is provided by parking areas, permanent supervision and well-organised service infrastructure. In addition to basic mooring services, Marina Kornati also provides comprehensive support for boat maintenance, repair services, spare parts supply and other services related to nautical activities. The marina complex also includes catering facilities, event spaces and options for organising business meetings, which makes the marina not only a place for boating but also an important part of the tourist offer of Biograd na Moru. Special attention is given to environmental protection and service quality. Since 2004, the marina has held the Blue Flag, an international recognition for cleanliness, safety and environmentally responsible management.
Marina Kornati is therefore an important nautical centre on the Croatian Adriatic, which, with its size, modern facilities and strategic location, represents one of the best starting points for discovering the beauty of Northern Dalmatia and the surrounding islands.
