Osor is a small settlement and harbor located on the island of Cres. It is located in the southwestern part of the island next to a narrow and shallow channel. Already in Roman times, the spillway was deepened and a narrow channel was made, over which a swing bridge was built.
The bridge enables further traffic towards the settlements located on the island of Losinj. The city walls of Osor reveal a varied history, the traces of which go back to prehistoric times. The main street is surrounded by many attractions, as the entire town of Osor is a real open-air museum. In the ancient town square there are beautiful buildings from the 15th and 16th centuries, the bishop's palace, the town hall with a covered loggia, which today houses the Losinj Museum - Osor Archaeological Collection and the cathedral with a bell tower. They represent the historical center of the city. During the summer, the city becomes a scenic area, rich in varied cultural events, the most famous of which are the Osor music evenings, which have been held since 1976. The Gothic church of Saint Gaudentius, which was built in the 14th century, also stands out among the sights.
The Osor tourist offer includes neat and organized accommodation in private houses in the town itself, while outside the town, right by the sea, there are two campsites with beaches and restaurants. There are several bars and restaurants in the city with a wide range of local dishes.
