Brestova - Beach

Brestova is a small coastal settlement on the eastern coast of Istria, located in the municipality of Krsan. Due to its position along the Kvarner Bay, it represents one of the most important transport connections between the Istrian peninsula and the island of Cres. A ferry line operates year-round from the Brestova ferry port to Porozina.
This ferry connection provides fast and reliable access to the island and significantly contributes to the transport links within the Kvarner region. The settlement is surrounded by unspoiled nature and the slopes of Ucka Nature Park, which descend steeply towards the sea. The area is characterized by rich Mediterranean vegetation, numerous viewpoints, and exceptional biodiversity. Thanks to its location between the sea and the mountainous hinterland, Brestova is a popular starting point for exploring eastern Istria, hiking, cycling, and visiting natural attractions. In the past, Brestova was primarily important as a small coastal port used for local transport and fishing. Near the ferry port, in a small sheltered bay, lies Brestova Beach, which attracts visitors with its clear sea, natural surroundings, and pleasant atmosphere. The beach is mainly pebbly, with some natural rocky areas suitable for sunbathing and providing easier access to the sea. The water is exceptionally clean, crystal clear, and quickly reaches greater depths, making it popular among swimmers, divers, and snorkeling enthusiasts. The direct proximity of the ferry port provides easy access to the beach; however, during the summer months, increased ferry traffic and a larger number of visitors create a somewhat livelier atmosphere. Nearby, visitors can find parking and a catering facility, offering a pleasant stop or the possibility of spending the entire day at the beach. Due to its good transport accessibility, the beach is popular among both locals and tourists traveling to the island of Cres or exploring the eastern coast of Istria.
The surroundings of the beach are covered with lush Mediterranean vegetation and the slopes of Ucka, creating a picturesque natural backdrop. An additional charm is provided by the view of ferries connecting Istria with Cres, allowing visitors to observe maritime traffic while relaxing by the sea.
