Park of the Fallen - Fish Sculpture

Alongside its commemorative role, the Park of the Fallen for the Homeland contains smaller artistic accents.

The fish sculpture stands beside one of the paths in the Park of the Fallen for the Homeland. Its simple animal motif and green setting make it a playful accent rather than a conventional memorial. It is easy to pass without noticing, yet it adds a pleasant detail to a short walk through the park.

The fish naturally refers to the sea, harbour and long fishing tradition of Crikvenica. This everyday maritime subject provides a counterpoint to the nearby National Liberation War memorial and shows how the park combines remembrance with ordinary urban life.

The sculpture works best as a stop between the park and the harbour waterfront. The main square is only a few steps away, while the route east continues towards Petak and the Dubracina.
