Park of the Fallen - National Liberation War Memorial

The Park of the Fallen for the Homeland is a memorial green space beside Crikvenica’s central waterfront.

The National Liberation War memorial is the principal commemorative feature of the Park of the Fallen for the Homeland. A bronze group of human figures rises from a low stone base among mature trees, so the monument gradually appears while walking through the park. Rough rock beneath the figures reinforces the gravity of the scene and contrasts with the softer green setting.

Plaques bearing the names of the fallen form part of the memorial. They make clear that this is not merely a decorative sculpture but a shared place of remembrance for victims and participants of the anti-fascist struggle. It is worth viewing the ensemble from several sides: the wider view reveals the composition, while a closer look shows the inscriptions and individual features of the bronze figures.

The memorial is freely accessible directly from the park path. A visit can continue towards Stjepan Radic Square or through the park to the smaller fish sculpture.
