Kastel - Former Pauline Monastery
The beginnings of historic 
Crikvenica are closely connected with the Pauline monks who settled at the mouth of the Dubracina.
The Pauline monastery was founded in 1412 by Nikola IV Frankopan, who donated it to the order together with the nearby church. After the order was abolished in 1786 the building served several purposes, including administration, a military health resort and the Ladislaus children’s home; today it forms part of Hotel Kastel.
