Jadranovo is a picturesque coastal settlement in the northern Adriatic, located in the Kvarner Bay, in the area where the Mala Vrata strait opens into the Velebit Channel. It is part of the town of Crikvenica and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and is easily accessible from all major traffic routes.
The settlement stretches along a calm coastline, opposite the island of Krk, which is only a short drive away via the Krk Bridge. Jadranovo has a small harbor and a long maritime tradition, as it originally developed as a settlement of fishermen and stonemasons. Throughout history, it has been known by several names, most notably Sveti Jakov, derived from the Church of St. James, one of the most important cultural and historical landmarks of the area. The church still represents the center of the settlement and an important symbol of its identity. Other local attractions include the cultural center, which serves as a hub of social and cultural life, a historic fountain dating back to 1839 that reflects the rich past of the area, and a memorial dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom, an important symbol of Jadranovo’s historical and cultural heritage. Today, Jadranovo is a modern tourist destination that is developing rapidly while still preserving a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Its particular charm lies in the many small bays and a variety of well-maintained beaches. Among the most popular are Havisce, Tepla, Grabrova, Vodna, Tunera, and Trstena, offering a mix of pebble, sandy, and natural coastal areas. Pine groves along the shore provide natural shade, while the clear sea is ideal for swimming and relaxation. A special feature of Jadranovo are the natural freshwater springs in Percin Bay and the healing mud in Lokvisce Bay, which have attracted visitors for many years.
Thanks to its proximity to Crikvenica and the island of Krk, Jadranovo is an excellent choice for those seeking a peaceful seaside holiday with opportunities to explore the wider Kvarner region. As part of the Crikvenica Riviera, the destination combines a relaxed coastal atmosphere with diverse culinary offerings and close access to lively tourist centers.
