Makarska is located in the center of the most popular riviera of central Dalmatia, halfway between Dubrovnik and Split. Pebble beaches in this area are among the most beautiful in Croatia. Mount Biokovo proudly rises above the city with the highest peak of St. Jure.

The place is ideal for lovers of an active holiday, as Makarska offers many challenges, both at sea and on the slopes of Biokovo. The Osejava Forest Park is located on the peninsula of the same name. It extends from Makarska to the access road to Tučep. It is the largest city park, covered by Mediterranean vegetation and a dense pine forest. It is surrounded by a rocky coast, under which the waves of the crystal clear sea splash into it. The forest park is interspersed with many well-maintained paths and there are many small bays in which you can enjoy a peaceful swim. It is an ideal location for walking, cycling, running or jumping into the sea.
The popular Nugal beach is located in this area, which is the most beautiful nudist beach on the Adriatic. It is secluded and hidden and is located about two kilometers from the city port. The beach is accessible only by boat or if you go to it by a forest path.
