Trsteno - Memorial to King Tomislav

In the centre of Trsteno, everyday village life, monumental old trees and reminders of local history meet beside the main coastal road. This small historic space lies just above the arboretum entrance and is easily included in a walk through the village.

The memorial to King Tomislav stands beside one of the celebrated plane trees of Trsteno. A stone colonnade frames the central section with the Croatian chequerboard and a plaque commemorating King Tomislav and the years 925 and 1925.

The monument forms part of a small village space beside the main road. Together with the huge plane tree and neighbouring stone buildings, it creates a distinctive historic corner in central Trsteno.
