Trsteno Arboretum - Aqueduct

In the coastal village of Trsteno, Trsteno Arboretum extends between the sea and the karst slopes. Its historic gardens were shaped not only by their plants but also by a carefully planned water system.

The monumental aqueduct in Trsteno Arboretum collected water from a stream on the eastern side of the estate and carried it through the garden. The roughly 70-metre stone structure with 14 arches supplied the great Neptune Fountain.

Today its arches extend through dense greenery and form one of the arboretum's most picturesque walks. The path crosses the structure several times, allowing close views of its masonry, pillars and water channel.
