Malinska is located in a wooded bay on the west side of the island of Krk. With the other twenty settlements, it belongs to the area called Dubasnica. Dubasnica Bay is full of bays and coves and is protected from cold winds thanks to its geographical location.
The climate is mild, Mediterranean. Malinska is known for its hotels, family tourism and many beautiful beaches, the most famous of which are Rio Beach, Rupa Beach, Rova Beach and Malinska Beach. Malinska was once an island port for timber exports and a popular tourist destination of the Viennese aristocracy. Most of the cultural and historical heritage are sacral buildings, the most famous of which is the complex from 1840. It consists of the Church of Mary Magdalene, a Franciscan monastery, a religious monastery and a museum collection with a library and a verb lapidary.
During the year, many concerts of classical and traditional music take place here, which, in addition to the atrium of the Franciscan monastery, also take place in other locations. In addition to the parish church of St. Apollinaris, in the center of Malinska there is also the church-gallery complex of St. Nikolaj, which is the center of art events.
